Nostalgic
Heritage Series

Lateefa bint Maktoum, fine artist and Director of Tashkeel was commissioned by Gerbou through Tasmeem Tashkeel consultancy, undertook a unique artistic endeavor, crafting plate designs that seamlessly blend her intricate sketches with the ceramic canvas. The collection encompasses eight distinct designs, portraying iconic animals of the UAE. From the majestic falcon and Arabian horse to the resilient camel, each image resonates with the country's cultural and natural heritage.

Migrating flamingos, Saluki Dogs, Arabian Gazelles, and local fish like Safi and Hamoor further enrich the series. Notably, the inclusion of the national protected Eurasian collared dove adds a touch of conservation significance. Lateefa's drawings, seemingly etched directly onto the plates, offer a profound perspective on the UAE's fauna, capturing the essence of the nation through the eyes of an artist deeply connected to its vibrant and diverse landscape. The plates thus serve as unique visual narratives, reflecting a populations bond and nostalgia with the UAE.

Eurasian
Collared Dove

Vera Meng's commissioned artwork for Tashkeel's Gerbou Supper Club beautifully captures the essence of UAE's indigenous wildlife and nature. Focused on Ghaff trees, desert rose, and Eurasian collared doves, the piece intricately portrays the local flora and fauna surrounding the Gerbou main restaurant. Meng's skillful depiction not only celebrates the country's natural beauty but also enhances the dining experience by connecting patrons to the rich, local environment.

Through vibrant imagery and attention to detail, the artwork serves as a visual ode to the UAE's unique ecological tapestry, fostering a deeper appreciation for the surroundings in which the Gerbou Supper Club is situated.
